A sledding we did go

Carter tried out the sled today. It was one of those activities that is more for Mom then Baby. He smiled some, he whined some. All in all I think we were in the backyard for a total of 5 minutes.

Really??

We knew it was coming.....

What to do when it's -12 outside?

Nothing! Well, we did bundle Carter up and went out to lunch. So far his favorite spots are Yats (Cajun food) and Champps. He's always been well behaved in the restaurants and now that he's eating finger foods he enjoys sitting at the table and eating with us.

Carter has been very active lately. He's crawling everywhere and pulling up on EVERYTHING. His new fun trick is pulling up and letting go. It scares the heck out of us. Hardwood floors and wobbly babies don't mix. He is now to the stage where if he bumps into something or falls down he looks at us to see our reaction before crying. Funny how kids get upset if you're upset and are cool if you're cool.

The only other news around here is Carter is getting his two front teeth. Right now he has two on the bottom and one on top. Very soon he will have a mouth full of teeth. Hard to believe!

Not like you can lose Carter in our tiny house, but if you can't find him then he's probably in his new toy room

(a.k.a. the bathroom).

Carter loves it when Kyle plays the guitar. Here is a short video. Let me set it up for you: Kyle is finishing a song and Carter decides there should be some rockin' vocals at the end.

Children's Museum Afternoon

Last time we were at the Children's Museum Carter was about two months old. He was way too little to enjoy it. Now that Carter is crawling and pulling up on things we decided it was time to head back. Let me just say he loved it!

Carter driving the Indy Race Car. This might have been the highlight of his day. He loved spinning the steering wheel. We assumed he would like it because he loves all things wheels, but holy cow this kid thought it was awesome!

Playing in playscape. He crawled around the padded area most of the time we were there. He would crawl up and down the ramps, look at himself in the mirrors and toss the big blocks. If it wasn't close to his nap time I think he could have played in there for hours!

Riding the Carousel. This might have been mom's highlight of the day. Carter was bopping to the music and simply soaking everything in. So sweet!

Hello 2009

Happy New Year!! Carter, Kyle and I had a very low key New Years Eve with a celebration of spaghetti and meatball dinner. Carter's first pasta experience and he loved it. Of course it was just as messy as we expected.

Carter has been busy playing with all his new toys since Christmas. He has also been busy getting upper teeth and going to his 9 month checkup. The doctor said Carter is a healthy (and happy) little boy. His current stats:

Weight: 23.25 lbs (83%)

Height: 29" (69%)
