Traveling Weekend

The Meek family spent alot of time in the car this weekend.

We drove to Cincinnati on Saturday to visit our friends Jarmo and Erica Monttinen. They moved from Arizona last year and we haven't made it down to see their new place until now. We left two hours behind schedule but still made it there with plenty of time to enjoy the coolest backyard water toy we've ever seen.

Sunday we loaded the car again and headed to Evansville for an overnight stay at Grandma and Grandpa Meek's house. We packed everything imaginable EXCEPT the camera. Augh! Cousin Aidan turned 2 years old on Sunday and had a birthday party decorated in his favorite things: Spiderman, Batman, Thomas the Train and Sponge Bob Square Pants. We are now educated in Thomas the Train. Kyle can even name several of the train characters! Before heading home we made a pit stop in French Lick to have lunch with Kyle's Aunt Pat and Uncle Butch (who were in town from Maryland). Dad and Grandpa Meek played a few hands at the casino and both left big winners.

A funfilled traveling weekend, indeed.

Great Weather, Great Fun

This weekend was beautiful in Indianapolis - sunny and 75-77 degrees. We took full advantage of the nice weather. Saturday there was an outside baby shower for Kristie Johnson. It was a fun afternoon talking about all things baby. She's having a baby girl and we can't wait. All of Carter's friends are boys so it will be nice to have a little girl in the mix.

Saturday night we put Carter in the stroller and walked to Marc and Sarah Ancel's house for a BBQ. We ate, drank and hung out with friends. Kyle played a round of corn hole. This is a pic of our friends' little girl checking out the corn hole set - so cute!

Sunday we spent the afternoon at Holiday Park (about 5 min. from our house). They have 3 miles of hiking trails and an awesome park. Carter got a kick out of walking around looking at the trees. He also loved laying in the grass.

Lets Eat!

Check out Carter. He is eating like a big boy! This is our first attempt at rice cereal. He took to it well. After a couple bites he was opening his mouth really wide and it seemed like more was actually making it in his mouth then on his bib. A few more days of bland rice cereal and then it's on to real food. Applesauce, bananas and peaches here we come!

Operation Tough Love: Part 2

We're happy to report Operation Tough Love was a success......at least so far. Last night Carter only got up once to eat (at midnight) and we didn't hear from him again until 6:30am. He's getting up a little earlier then he used to, but that's ok. He likes to take a cat nap with me during the Today Show before we start our day.

P.S. Congratulations to the Harpster Family. Jenn, Randy and their daughter Grace welcomed in a baby boy on Monday. Cooper Daniel Harpster - 8 lb.s 9 oz. We are so happy for you! Send pictures!!!!!!
