Carter's Post

I love to look at myself in my activity mat mirror. My mirror is my favorite toy right now. I instantly stop fussing when I see that cute little baby looking back at me.




My mom loves to take pictures of me. Here are two pictures from my latest photo shoot. I am looking outside thinking about how I would love to go on another walk.

We've tried to put Carter in his swing before but he didn't really like it. Perhaps it was because he was too small. Today Carter is 4 weeks old and we decided to try the swing again. He seemed to like it this time and decided it was a great place to nap.

3 Weeks Old

Carter is now 3 weeks old. We are starting to see changes in him on a daily basis. His face and belly are filling out and he seems much longer. An outfit he wore just 6 days ago is now too small. He is getting more and more fussy too, but dr. reassures us that most babies become "difficult" between 3-6 weeks.

Carter isn't doing much yet. Right now the most action we get from him are his hiccups. He gets them ALL the time! I took some video. It's not really exciting. It was more for me to practice using the camera and uploading video to the blog.

Grandma and Grandpa Meek, Aunt Krissy and Cousin Aidan came to visit Carter this weekend. Aidan was wonderful with the baby. He would gently touch Carter's toes and pat his back. Although Aidan liked the baby, he found something at our house he liked even more. Aidan was mesmerized by our cats. Too bad I can't say the cats felt the same about him.

First Walk

What a beautiful weekend. It was finally warm and sunny enough to take Carter out for a walk. We like to think he enjoyed it although he was sound asleep the entire time.

Growing Baby Boy

Carter had his 2 week doctor visit yesterday. The doctor said he was really doing well and based on his measurements he is eating very well too!

At Birth
Weight: 7 lbs. 6 oz.
Height: 20.7 in.

At Two Weeks
Weight: 9 lbs. (56%)
Height: 22 in. (88%)

Needless to say our boy is growing quickly. He has already outgrown the newborn diapers and his newborn onesies are getting a little snug for his long torso.

We have our next appointment is a couple of weeks when Carter is 1 mo. old. Until then the doctor's order is for Carter to keep up the good work....eat, sleep, poop (and repeat).
